How we collect, use and protect your personal information, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 14 October 2026
1. Who we are
MacNab Financial Services Limited ("MacNab FS", "we", "us", "our") is responsible for the personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us. We are the "controller" of that information under UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12081343), with our registered office at 2 Vicarage Road, Verwood, Dorset, BH31 6DR. We are an Appointed Representative of TMG Direct Limited (FRN 786245), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit our website, use our mortgage calculator, fill in one of our forms or contact us.
If you become a client, your adviser will also give you our client privacy notice. It explains in more detail how we handle the information we need to give you advice, including financial information and, for protection insurance, health information.
3. The information we collect
When you contact us or fill in a form: your name, your email address and/or phone number, the service you're interested in, how you'd like us to contact you, and anything you tell us in your message.
When you ask us to email your mortgage calculator results: your name and email address, the figures you entered (purchase price, mortgage amount, interest rate and term), your results, the page you used, the date and time, and your agreement to be contacted.
When you email or call us: your contact details and what we discuss.
When you visit the website: technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, which our website hosting provider records to keep the website secure and working properly. Our Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies.
Please don't send us sensitive information, such as health or bank details, through the website's forms.
4. How we use your information, and why
We only use your personal information where the law allows us to:
• To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation with an adviser, because you have asked us to and it is a necessary step before we can agree to work together, and because it is in our legitimate interests to respond to people who contact us.
• To email you your calculator results and follow up about your mortgage options, because you have given us your consent when you ask for your results.
• To give you advice and arrange products if you become a client, because it is necessary to carry out our agreement with you and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
• To keep records, handle complaints and meet our regulatory duties, because we are legally required to.
• To keep our website and systems secure and help prevent fraud, because it is in our legitimate interests and yours.
We won't send you marketing emails unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
5. Who we share your information with
We only share your information when we need to, and we never sell it. We may share it with:
• TMG Direct Limited, our principal firm, which oversees our advice and has regulatory responsibility for our services;
• service providers who help us run our business, such as our website hosting, email and IT providers, who may only use your information to provide their services to us;
• lenders, insurers and other product providers, if you become a client and ask us to arrange a product for you;
• regulators, law enforcement and other authorities, such as the Financial Conduct Authority and the Financial Ombudsman Service, where the law requires us to; and
• our professional advisers, such as our accountants, auditors and lawyers.
6. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the UK. When that happens, we make sure your information is protected to UK standards, for example by using providers in countries the UK Government has approved, or by putting in place contracts approved by the Information Commissioner's Office.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy.
• If you contact us or use our calculator but don't become a client, we normally keep your details for up to two years after we were last in touch, and then delete them.
• If you become a client, we keep your records for as long as our regulators require, which for advice records can be a number of years after our relationship ends. Your client privacy notice gives full details.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it;
• ask us to transfer your information to another organisation; and
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
Some of these rights depend on the circumstances. For example, we may need to keep certain records to meet our legal duties. To use any of your rights, email contact@macnabfs.co.uk. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.
9. Keeping your information safe
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from being lost, misused or accessed without permission. Only people who need your information to do their job can access it.
10. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, together with the date it was last updated.
