Policy
What cookies are, the few we use on this website, and how you can control them.
Last updated: 14 October 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They help the website work and can remember information about your visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy we call them all "cookies".
2. How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work and stay secure. We don't currently use analytics or advertising cookies, and we don't use cookies to track you across other websites.
Because these cookies are essential, the law doesn't require us to ask for your consent before using them, but we still want you to know what they are.
3. The cookies we use
Website security and performance
Our website and hosting may set cookies that help pages load quickly, keep the website secure and make sure features such as our contact forms and mortgage calculator work properly. These cookies don't identify you personally.
Staff log-in cookies
If you log in to manage the website (MacNab FS staff only), WordPress sets cookies such as wordpress_logged_in, wordpress_sec and wp-settings to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Our caching system may also set _lscache_vary so that logged-in users see the right version of each page. Visitors who don't log in don't receive these cookies.
4. Services from other companies
Some parts of our website use services provided by other companies:
• Google Fonts: our website loads some fonts from Google's servers. When it does, your browser shares your IP address with Google so the fonts can be delivered. Google Fonts does not set cookies. You can read more in Google's privacy policy.
• Social media and map links: our website links to our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages and to Google Maps. These are simple links, so those companies don't receive information or set cookies through our website unless you click them. If you do, their own cookie and privacy policies apply.
5. Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block cookies from other websites, or delete cookies when you close the browser. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of our website may not work properly.
You can find out more about cookies and how to manage them on the Information Commissioner's Office website.
6. Changes to this policy
If we start using other types of cookies, such as analytics cookies to help us understand how people use our website, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before we use them. The latest version will always be on this page, together with the date it was last updated.
7. More information
To find out how we use your personal information, please read our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about cookies, email us at contact@macnabfs.co.uk.
